Change Log Enhancement
The Change Log Enhancement feature provides bulk actions that significantly simplify and speed up the configuration of change tracking in Business Central. Instead of manually enabling logging options for each field individually, you can now configure multiple fields simultaneously with just a few clicks.
Overview
Business Central's standard change log allows you to track changes to data in your database. However, configuring it for many fields can be time-consuming. Our enhancement adds bulk operations that make this process several times faster.
Available Actions
The functionality is available directly from the Change Log Setup (Field) List page and includes the following actions:
N24C | Enable for Selected
This action group allows you to quickly enable specific logging options for multiple selected fields:
Insert
Enables logging of new record creation
Modify
Enables logging of changes to existing records
Delete
Enables logging of record deletion
- How to use: Select one or more fields in the list and click this action
All
-Enables all logging options (Insert, Modify, Delete) simultaneously
- Note: The system respects the table-level settings and only enables options that are configured as "Some Fields" at the table level
Additional Quick Actions
All options for non-system fields
Automatically enables all logging options for all non-system fields in the current table
What are non-system fields: Fields with field numbers below 2,000,000,000 (custom and standard business fields)
Disable All
Removes all logging configurations for selected fields
