Blocking Warehouse Operations Registration

In N24 Core Extension Setup, the option to enable checking if:

  • Inventory,
  • Lot No.,
  • Serial No. are blocked has been added, thus interrupting the registration of transactions performed by Item Journals, Transfer Journals, and any transactions with enabled Direct Put-away and Pick.

Examples and Scenarios

Scenario: Blocking a lot with defective products

Need: Quality control discovered a defective batch of components (lot LOT-2024-089). The lot has been blocked in the system, but a warehouse worker attempts to register a pick with this lot for a production order.

How it works:

  1. Lot LOT-2024-089 is marked as blocked in item tracking.
  2. The warehouse worker registers a warehouse pick with lot LOT-2024-089 assigned.
  3. The system blocks the registration and displays a message that the lot is blocked.

Result: Defective components do not reach production. The warehouse worker must select a different, unblocked lot.

Scenario: Blocking transfer of a blocked item

Need: Item "COMP-500" has been blocked due to an ongoing supplier complaint. A warehouse worker attempts to transfer this item between locations using the transfer journal.

How it works:

  1. Item COMP-500 has Blocked = Yes.
  2. The worker creates a line in the Warehouse Transfer Journal with item COMP-500.
  3. When attempting to register, the system detects the block and interrupts the operation.

Result: Blocked items cannot be transferred between locations, ensuring that goods subject to a complaint remain in place until the matter is resolved.
