Fixed Asset History

The functionality allows for the registration of changes to the following fields:

  • FA Location Code,
  • Responsible Employee,

On the Fixed Asset card.

To enable the registration process, go to N24 Core Extension Setup and enable Fixed Asset History:

Once enabled, the system will initialize initial entries in the Fixed Asset History Entries describing the current state of fixed assets. During this and any subsequent registration of Fixed Asset History, the system will allow the user to specify the Change Date, which is the actual date of the change of the above parameters.

The Fixed Asset History Entries view is available from the FA list and card:

Examples and Scenarios

Scenario: Tracking laptop transfers between employees

Need: A company has 200 laptops as fixed assets. Each time the responsible employee changes (e.g., a laptop is passed to a new employee), the company must have a history — who, when, and to whom the equipment was transferred.

Configuration:

  1. Open N24 Core Extension Setup and enable Fixed Asset History.
  2. The system will initialize entries for all fixed assets with current values.

Usage:

  1. Open the FA card for laptop FA-LAPTOP-045.
  2. Change the Responsible Employee field from Employee A to Employee B.
  3. The system prompts for a Change Date — enter the actual handover date (e.g., 05.05.2026).

Result: In the FA History Entries, the full history is visible: the laptop was with Employee A from 15.01.2024 to 05.05.2026, and from 05.05.2026 it's with Employee B. During IT audits, the department knows exactly who is responsible for what.

Scenario: Machine transfer history between production halls

Need: A manufacturing company moves machines between locations (halls). A controller wants to see the full history of which hall a given machine worked in and since when.

Usage:

  1. Open the FA card for machine FA-MACH-012.
  2. Change FA Location Code from HALL-A to HALL-B.
  3. Enter the change date: 01.05.2026.

Result: In the history entries: the machine was in HALL-A from 01.03.2023, moved to HALL-B from 01.05.2026. The controller can report machine utilization per location for any period.
