Assigning Lot/Serial Numbers Directly in Journals

In the Inventory Journal and Warehouse Physical Inventory Journal, additional fields have been added to allow assigning Lot/Serial Numbers as well as Warranty and Expiration Dates. Using the additional action "Fill in Tracking Specification," inventory tracking lines will be automatically created for all journal lines, enabling quick posting of the journal.

Examples and Scenarios

Scenario: Quick lot receipt through the inventory journal

Need: A warehouse worker is receiving a delivery of 10 items, each with its own lot number and expiration date. Normally, they would have to open the item tracking window for each line and manually enter the data. They want to do it faster.

Steps:

  1. Open the Inventory Journal.
  2. Create receipt lines (Entry Type = Positive Adjmt.) for 10 items.
  3. Directly in the line, enter the Lot No. and Expiration Date for each position.
  4. After filling in all lines, click the Fill in Tracking Specification action.
  5. The system automatically creates item tracking lines for all positions.
  6. Post the journal.

Result: 10 items with full lot tracking and expiration dates posted in a few minutes instead of many. No need to open the tracking window for each line separately.

Tip

The function works for both lots and serial numbers. Especially useful for receipts with many positions or stock adjustments after physical inventory.
