Product Types

This module routes costs to the appropriate cost centers based on product type and reason code.

❓ Introduction

The Product Types module enables product categorization for automatic routing of different cost types to appropriate cost centers. This way each product family receives appropriate cost calculation method without manual intervention.

🔍 How it works

During variance settlement the system automatically checks item's product type and reason code, then routes costs to the appropriate cost center. For example:

  1. Checking product type - when entering settlement costs:

    • Item A has product type: STANDARD
    • Reason Code: ENERGY
    • System automatically routes to location: CC_ENERGY

  2. Automatic cost routing - based on configured matrix:

    • STANDARD + ENERGY → CC_ENERGY (energy costs for standard products)
    • CUSTOM + SUPERVISION → CC_SUPERVISION (supervision costs for special orders)
    • HEAVY + TRANSPORT → CC_TRANSPORT (transport costs for heavy products)

🚀 How to enable the module

  1. Open Production Variance Settlement Setup.
  2. Enable the Enable Product Types field.
  3. Complete the matrix described in Product Type Settings.
