Transport Cost Price List
Centralize shipping prices and vendor links so transport costs are priced accurately and matched to the right accounting items.
❓ Introduction
The Transport Cost Price List module lets you define transport prices based on shipping agent, shipping service, customer, and ship-to address. This way, when creating a transport cost from a sales document, the system automatically picks the best matching price from the price list.
The module is available in the following areas:
- Shipping Agents (action Transport Cost Prices)
- Shipping Agent Services (action Transport Cost Prices)
- N24TC - Transport Cost Prices (search)
🔍 How It Works
Transport Cost Price List
The price list is a set of price entries from which the system selects the best match when creating a transport cost. Each entry contains:

| Shipping Agent Service Code | The shipping service — leave blank to apply to all services of the agent |
| Customer No. | The customer — leave blank to apply to all customers |
| Ship-to Code | The customer's ship-to address — requires Customer No.. Leave blank for all addresses |
| Unit Price | The transport price |
| Currency Code | Price currency — leave blank for local currency |
| Starting Date | First date the price is valid — leave blank for no lower bound |
| Ending Date | Last date the price is valid — leave blank for no upper bound |
| Description | Optional description for the price entry |
| Enabled | Check to include the entry in price lookups. Uncheck to temporarily disable it without deleting it |
Price Lookup Hierarchy
The system selects the price from the most specific to the most general match. Each dimension is independent — any of them can be filled or left blank:
- Ship-to Code — price for a specific ship-to address
- Customer No. — price for a specific customer
- Shipping Agent Service Code — price for a specific service
- Shipping Agent Code — general price for the shipping agent
If multiple matching entries exist, the system picks the most specific one (e.g. an entry with both customer and service has priority over an entry with the agent only).
Tip
You can define a general price for a shipping agent (without service, customer, or address) and then add entries with more specific prices for selected customers or services. The system always picks the best matching entry.
Price Source on Transport Cost
On the transport cost card, the Price Source field shows where the Estimated Cost amount comes from:

If you manually change the Estimated Cost value, the Price Source field automatically changes to Manual.
Linking a Shipping Agent to a Vendor
On the Shipping Agents page, a Vendor No. field appears. Assigning a vendor to a shipping agent allows:
- Automatic shipping agent recognition when matching purchase invoices
- Filtering transport costs by shipping agent based on the vendor from the invoice
Transport Cost Type on Shipping Agent
On the Shipping Agents and Shipping Agent Services pages, the following fields appear:

Settings at the Shipping Agent Service level take priority over settings at the Shipping Agent level. If a service has no assigned type — the system takes it from the shipping agent.
💲 Transport Cost Surcharges
Beyond the base price, you can define surcharges (e.g. fuel surcharge, road toll) that the system applies automatically based on rates assigned to the shipping agent.

Go to N24TC - Transport Cost Setup → action Surcharge Types to manage the surcharge code catalog.

Surcharge Rates
Go to N24TC - Transport Cost Setup → action Transport Surcharges to define rates per shipping agent.

Surcharge Calculation Types
| Type | Description |

| % of Base Rate | Surcharge calculated as a percentage of the base price from the price list |
| % of Shipment Value | Surcharge calculated as a percentage of the goods value in the shipment |
| Fixed Amount | Fixed amount added regardless of shipment value |
Tip
You can define multiple surcharges for one shipping agent — for example a 5% fuel surcharge on the base rate and a 50 road toll as a fixed amount. The system sums all active surcharges when pricing a transport cost.
The system selects one active surcharge rate for each surcharge type. It first considers the match for the shipping service, customer, and ship-to address, and then uses the starting date of the rate. A blank value means that the rate applies generally.
🚀 How to Enable
The module does not require separate activation — the price list and actions on the Shipping Agents and Shipping Agent Services pages are available immediately after installing N24 Transport Costs.
⚙️ How to Configure
- Go to Search → type Shipping Agents.
- Open a shipping agent card.
- Fill in the Vendor No. field (link to vendor).
- Fill in Transport Cost Type and Transport Cost Type No..
- Click the Transport Cost Prices action and add price entries for this agent's services.
